Polyurethane panel has a variety of uses in construction and engineering due to its excellent advantages. Next LINBLE will introduce five distinct advantages of cold room polyurethane panels.
1. Energy-saving and heat preservation
Rigid polyurethane has low thermal conductivity and good thermal performance. When the density of rigid polyurethane is 35~40kg/m3, the thermal conductivity is only 0.018~0.024w/(m.k).
2. Excellent moisture, water and corrosion resistance
Its closed-cell structure and face material enable the polyurethane rigid foam to have superior resistance to air and moisture, and be able to made into a mosaic joint structure at the time of molding, making it easy to post-assemble. It does not require an additional insulation layer to protect against moisture, eliminating much of the trouble of laying insulation.
3. Fireproof, flame retardant, and high temperature resistant
Polyurethane panel with flame retardants is a self-extinguishing material that is difficult to burn, with a softening point of at least 250℃, and will only decompose at higher temperatures. In addition, polyurethane will form a carbon deposit on the surface of its foam when it burns, and this carbon deposit helps to isolate the foam below and effectively prevent the spread of flame. Moreover, polyurethane does not produce harmful gases at high temperatures.
4. Wide, lightweight, and thin
Since polyurethane rigid foam acts as a structural material at the same time, so the overall structure has the advantages of light weight, large span and high load. The thinner polyurethane sandwich panel material can meet the relevant regulations regarding the energy limit of the building, which allows the use of thinner panels in construction and saves building space.
5. Stable quality, long service life, and high cost performance
The average life span of rigid foam polyurethane insulation construction can reach more than 30 years under normal conditions of use and maintenance.
Under normal use conditions within the service life of the structure, it is able to be free from damage under dry, humid or galvanic corrosion, as well as due to external influences such as insect, fungal or algae growth or due to damage by rodents.
Although the unit cost of rigid polyurethane foam for cold room panel is higher than that of other traditional insulation materials, the increased cost will be offset by a longer service life and a significant reduction in heating and cooling costs.
